About Me

I’m a 25-year-old graphical artist from the west coast of Scotland.  I’ve just finished my degree in Computer Animation and I’m now working on icons, logos & graphics full-time.

I currently do mostly 3D artwork and icon/logo design for Mac & Windows application developers; if you’re wanting some graphic design work doing, drop me a line.

Outside of graphics work, I’m learning to program, mostly in Objective-C/Cocoa for Mac-based applications.  I co-develop iPlayer Downloader along with Lawrence Dudley.  I’ve also released a couple of minor Mac OS X programs.

Away from computers, I enjoy cooking, walking the dog and watching films.  Anything else you want to know, e-mail me.

    Dear Math

I downloaded your iPlayer Downloader(iDL) programme. I have an iMac with 2 gb memory : 2.8 ghz Intel dual core processor : and 1tb hard disc. It runs on MacOS 10.5.7.

When I open iDL to download a BBC TV programme, everything opens apparently fine.
However, when I click on the programme to download(DL) it, the DL window opens and the progress bar appears momentarily, flashes across to ‘completion’ and then disappears. However, the programme is not downloaded; I am therefore unable to use an otherwise useful application.

I would be most grateful for your help in getting this application working.

    Regards Brian H

Unfortunately, that means the program in question isn’t available on the BBC server for iPhone format yet. Since the app can only download the iPhone formatted files, if the beeb don’t put it up, the program can’t download them. 90% of the problems you’ll get are this. If *no* program at all will download, then either the BBC have changed the system (and you’ll see an update from us within a matter of days) or your net connection isn’t working…

Can’t get iPlayer downloader to work with 10.6.1. I am running version 3.3, but keep getting the message “The requested program could not be downloaded”

    Any ideas?
